use the internet to check for firms that deal with family issues or something like yellow pages, if they have that. Call up and tell them what you want and they might refer you to someone or have you book an appointment to visit.
Contact your home country’s embassy. They often have referrals to law firms throughout the nation.
Additionally, the US Embassy in Beijing provides a comprehensive list of law firms providing assistance throughout the country. You do not have to be an American to utilize this list.
“The following is a list of law offices in China which include the municipalities of Beijing and Tianjin, the provinces, and autonomous regions of Gansu, Hebei, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Qinghai, Shaanxi, Shandong, Shanxi and Xinjiang. The list includes private and quasi-private Chinese law firms as well as private American law firms with a presence in the Consular district. Most of the firms listed specialize in commercial law, but many are qualified to offer advice on a full range of legal issues. Some will provide assistance with adoptions in China.
“The U.S. Embassy in Beijing, China assumes no responsibility or liability for the professional ability or reputation of, or the quality of services provided by, the following persons or firms. Inclusion on this list is in no way an endorsement by the Department of State or the U.S. Embassy. Names are listed alphabetically, and the order in which they appear has no other significance. The information in the list on professional credentials, areas of expertise and language ability are provided directly by the lawyers. You may receive additional information about the individuals by contacting the local bar association (or its equivalent) or the local licensing authorities.”http://beijing.usembassy-china.org.cn/ac…
(The list is nine pages long!)
Good luck!
